For those who are considering adding the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing to their fleet of track cars, it might be worth waiting until early 2025. Cadillac has announced that they will be introducing a new Precision Package specifically developed for this high-performance sedan. The CT5-V Blackwing is a V8-powered rear-wheel-drive sedan with 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque, equipped with a six-speed manual transmission as standard.

The key upgrades in this package are focused on the suspension system, including a larger front stabilizer, new bushings, and firmer spring rates. The front end of the car will feature new steering knuckles, while the rear will have new toe links, allowing for a more aggressive wheel alignment. Engineers have also fine-tuned the steering, Magnetic Ride Control dampers, stability control, and electronic limited-slip differential for improved performance.

Tire options will range from Michelin Pilot Sport 4S to Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R, providing improved steering precision, increased stability, and enhanced road feel during spirited driving situations, all while maintaining a comfortable road ride. C/D reports that the mission of improving performance without compromising comfort has been achieved.

Although General Motors has not disclosed the exact price of the Precision Package, the 2025 CT5-V Blackwing will have a starting price of $96,990.

Cadillac has also noted that the Precision Package will require the additional option of carbon ceramic brakes with cross-drilled rotors, which adds $9,000 to the total cost. This should be factored into the decision-making process.

Cadillac's chief engineer has expressed optimism about the potential of the CT5-V Blackwing, stating that the vehicle was designed to set records on some of the most challenging tracks worldwide and cater to the most discerning driving enthusiasts.

Production of the 2025 CT5-V Blackwing is currently underway, with customer deliveries of this upgraded model expected to begin early next year.
