AC Cars, a well-known British automaker that is credited with creating the iconic Shelby Cobra in the United States, recently revealed details and images of their latest creation - the AC Cobra GT Coupe. This new model comes with a hardtop, reminiscent of the bug-eye Roadster rather than the famous Cobra Daytona Coupe. Set to debut as a Clubsport Edition towards the end of 2025, the AC Cobra GT Coupe will feature a powerful 799-horsepower V8 engine.

With a chassis made of aluminum and bodywork crafted from carbon fiber, this coupe is expected to weigh around 3,200 pounds, promising impressive performance on the road. The inspiration for this new GT Coupe is said to have come from the one-of-one A98 Coupe, which unfortunately met a tragic end in a competition accident. The distinctive Kammtail rear end of the A98 Coupe is carried over to the new GT Coupe, showcasing a blend of classic design with modern performance.

AC Cars, often hailed as one of Britain's oldest active vehicle manufacturers, aims to produce a limited run of 99 Clubsport Edition models before introducing variants powered by either a 450-hp naturally aspirated engine or a 720-hp supercharged engine. With its heritage and innovative design, the AC Cobra GT Coupe is set to make a mark in the automotive world.
