Ford is embracing a wave of enhancements for the 2024 Mustang Mach-E, with a key highlight being a new rear motor that contributes to a maximum range of 320 miles. The latest Mustang Mach-E also boasts quicker charging speeds, cutting down the time it takes for the standard-range battery to go from 10 to 80 percent to around 32 minutes. The GT Performance model has been replaced, with Ford now offering a Performance Upgrade package for the GT that boosts torque by 100 pound-feet.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E has been available for purchase since the 2021 model year, but is now receiving a series of upgrades for 2024. In addition to the eye-catching new Rally variant featuring aero wheels and a hefty rear wing, Ford has introduced a new rear motor, enhanced DC fast-charging capabilities, and an updated GT model. Enhanced Range and Rapid Charging The standout upgrade for the 2024 Mustang Mach-E is the introduction of a new rear motor that is now standard across the lineup, improving range.

According to Ford, this new unit, developed internally, is lighter and helps deliver enhanced torque. The Select model with the standard-range battery and single-motor rear-wheel-drive configuration is rated at 250 miles of range, while the rear-wheel-drive Premium model with the extended-range battery boasts an EPA-estimated 320 miles of range. Ford highlights that these figures represent a 20-mile increase over the 2021 Mach-E models, but the 2023 updates to the standard-range battery's chemistry had already boosted range for the RWD models.

Charging times have also been reduced across the lineup, with extended-range battery models now going from 10 to 80 percent charge in just over 36 minutes. For standard-range battery models, this same charge level is achieved in just over 32 minutes. Apart from the improved charging time, Mustang Mach-E owners now have access to the Tesla Supercharger network with the use of an adapter to charge their SUVs using Tesla's NACS chargers.

Revamped GT Lineup The previous high-performance GT lineup has been reconfigured for 2024, with the GT Performance model being replaced by a Performance Upgrade package that adds 100 pound-feet of torque to the standard GT model. This enhancement allows the most potent version of the Mustang Mach-E to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds, as well as cover the quarter mile in 11.8 seconds at 114 mph. The Performance Upgrade package comes standard on the Rally model, with the option for Mach-E GT buyers to add it at the time of purchase or later. Ford has also added more standard features to the GT model, including Ford Performance front seats, Brembo front brake calipers, and magnetorheological dampers.

With the new rear motor now standard across the lineup, the Mach-E GT gains an extra 10 miles of range for a total EPA-estimated range of 280 miles, while the Rally model debuts with a 265-mile range. Comprehensive Updates Ford has also made adjustments to the interface of the 15.5-inch center touchscreen, introducing new button icons for easier access to important information.

The settings page now displays all information on a single page, addressing customer feedback that scrolling was inconvenient. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto remain standard across the lineup, and Ford's BlueCruise hands-free driver assistance technology is available on every Mach-E. Pricing for the 2024 Mustang Mach-E starts at $41,890 for the Select trim with rear-wheel drive and the standard battery.

The same setup on the Premium trim begins at $45,890, while the GT model is priced at $55,890. The Performance Upgrade package costs $995, and the Rally model is priced at $61,890.
