Porsche Cars Australia has issued a recall for 474 units of the 992-generation 911 model, citing a potential fault that could result in the front and rear windows becoming loose. The manufacturer stated that a manufacturing issue may have caused inadequate bonding between the window glass and the vehicle's body, leading to possible loosening over time. This could compromise the effectiveness of the front airbags in an accident, increasing the risk of injury to occupants.
The updated information clarifies that the recall pertains to windows that may come loose, with no mention of detachment according to the ACCC. The affected vehicles were manufactured between 2019 and 2023, and only those with the optional lightweight glass packages (option codes VW4 and VW7) are included in the recall. Owners of impacted Porsche 911s are advised to contact their authorized dealership for a complimentary inspection and repair of the issue.Related
